The 5th annual Africa Television Market 2018 is a one stop shop television conference involving the entire value chain of the TV industry. It consists of exciting, stimulating programs that will keep audiences captivated for the entire duration of the event, starting from the 19th of July 2018 until the 22nd of July 2018 at the Maharani Hotel in Durban.
The market will see some of the African TV industry’s greatest minds and front-runners, lead vibrant discussions and debate on key matters within and outside the industry which impact on the overall development and growth of an industry that in 2017 contributed R5 billion to South Africa’s GDP.
Among the prominent industry gurus that make up the list of panellists are Nigerian actress Rita Dominic of Audrey Silva Company – a big player on the Nigerian media and entertainment field and renowned local producer Duma Ndlovu of Imbewu Productions, which produces local drama series Muvhango – a firm favourite with South African prime time television audiences.
Crews from media companies such as Endemol and Cheeky media will delve into the behind the scenes that go into producing good content for television and the nitty-gritty of the entire TV value chain; as well as the challenges and opportunities within the industry.
‘The Africa Television Market is a developmental platform that seeks to not only educate and inform about the industry, but to also contribute towards its much needed growth through using the platform to establish strategic partnerships that bring about real, tangible value and create sustainable revenue streams within the industry.’ said ATM founder and SAFTA award winner Ms Lungelo Nxele.
“In an effort to further impact and concretize our outreach undertakings, we are proud and excited to introduce the ATM Roadshows for the first time this year as a way of reaching out and taking the TV industry to marginalized communities, particularly the youth. We believe ours is a good story to tell and hope that it will inspire investor confidence in order that we may grow the ATM, such as it becomes a major highlight on Africa’s event calendar,” she continued.
The ATM programme consists of five main features; tele-dialogues, channel stations, actor factor, taste of TV, and the Africa TV Mentorship Programme. The media launch will take place on Tuesday, 10 July 2018 at the Maharani Hotel.
Registration for the main event is now open and attendance is free. Visit www.africatvmarket.com to book your seat.
