Multi-faceted music mogul and businessman Lindelani Mkhize will yet again present his Ignite Music Showcase to Durban audiences in December. The lifestyle, music and development event takes place at the Presidential Atrium at the Moses Mabhida stadium, which will be transformed into an arena – a first for the venue.
Guests will literally ‘walk the President’s walk’ and can look forward to VIP treatment fit for royalty. From chauffeur driven rides, to an extravagant red-carpet experience and a musical showcase by SADEC’s raw talent who have been mentored and trained by Mkhize himself, Ignite 2017 promises to wow!
Mkhize has described this year’s Ignite journey as fulfilling and worth the long days and sometimes sleepless nights. As part of a grueling selection process, unknown young up-and-coming artists are invited to submit their music material via the Ignite social media platforms in a bid to make the final cast which will perform at the event on 22 December.
The 60-member cast is predominantly made up of young people from different backgrounds who share a passion for the creative arts, and all they need is for someone to believe in them and give them an opportunity to showcase their talent. Ignite provides a platform for these artists to receive the training, mentoring and exposure they need to begin building their music careers.
“In the past we have marveled at the development of our young cast from the exposure, from the likes of Nelisiwe who has since took on a spotlight through the famous soundtrack of TV series Lockdown ‘mama kaBafana’; Zinhle Madela from Mandeni who has since released a single with DJ Nastor; and is now getting bookings from event managers; as well as the Vosloorus duo Siyakha Khitha & Khaya who have since been invited to join the Joyous Celebration cast as a result. We are confident that Ignite is really igniting the careers of young creatives, and this is our way of giving back to an industry that has given and continues to afford us with so much,” said Mkhize.
“KZN is Summer” as all descend to the coast for the festive season. Pack your black ties and evening gowns and be ready for an unforgettable evening at Moses Mabhida Stadium.
Tickets are available at Computicket at R290 for silver, R470 for gold and R1500 for VIP Platinum.
